Crazy Improvisations and Amazing Cold Readings by all the Actors.

Feb. 2nd Hollywood Players Actor's Group full of surprises, even a shirtless Russian Gangster!

IMPROVISATIONS

I set up an Improv called "Reunion". David plays a music executive who wants to reunite a band who was popular in the late 60s. Jennifer plays a woman who has been with both of the men in the band and there is still some very bad blood there. Thomas is in a daze throughout most of the improv and not really getting along with Tony, who has been clean and sober for years.  Thomas get ahold of some cocaine that David puts out on the table and then he comes alive. Suddenly he's all about getting the band back together.  Tony isn't willing to bring back their party days. He get increasingly irritated by Jennifer and Tom's behavior. At the end, the band decides against reuniting and making some music executive a bunch of money. They are just over it!! Great job everyone!

"Governor Christie", another improv idea I came up with. Larry plays Governor Christie. Susan plays his partner in the crime of closing down the bridge. They know they have a big problem. Kareem comes in and tells them that they are going to deny everything.  It was a pretty funny scene.

COLD READINGS

"THE GOLDBERGS"with Jennifer playing the lead lady and David playing a guy in an office who is unwilling to help her with her issue that she has.  David played this character so dorky and great. He really did some funny stuff. Jennifer was nice in the beginning until she lost her cool and really let David have it.  Very funny stuff!
"BLOODLINES" Kelly plays a very angry wife who is accusing her husband of cheating on her. He tries to convince her that he's just been working late. She won't hear it. She's too distraught.  I came into this scene with too much going on and I couldn't let it go. I was like a run away horse that couldn't be tamed. But it was probably interesting for the audience. It was nice to act with Thomas, one never knows what shall happen.
"LOVE COMES SOFTLY" Kareema plays a doctor in training who comes to Larry, a fellow doctor for some help. He is rude to her and doesn't want to give her the time of day. She demands his attention and ends up giving her a piece of her mind.  I was proud of her during this scene!
"ANGER MANAGEMENT" David plays the Charlie Sheen character. Tony plays a money man who is considering going into business with but insists that Charlie hire a woman to be his partner or else he's not going to be an investor.  Both actors were wonderful in this scene.
"GETTING ON" Susan plays a nurse who didn't act appropriately during a routine surgery. She down plays her actions to Larry, who is a fellow doctor. Susan did a good job of acting like she had no clue as to what she did. Larry was a little to nice to her under the circumstances!!
"POWER" Tony plays a cop who comes to visit his old friend who is a Russian Gangster. This scene takes place in a sauna, that is why Tom has no shirt on. Tom did a great Russian Accent and was very convincing of a charming gangster who Tony comes to for help to put a hit on someone. I loved this scene. Those two work great together!!
"THE BLACK BOX" Jennifer and Larry play a married couple who argue about the classical music on the radio, they end up getting into an accident and Larry gets struck by lightening and suddenly he can play the violin like a professional classical musician. He actually loves music now. Kareema and Susan are discussing this phenomenon with Larry and Jennifer.  Good scene guys!

"PERCEPTION" Susan plays a concerned wife telling Thomas, a doctor that she's worried about Thomas' father who is estranged from Thomas and also missing since this morning. He asks her to show him his father's medicine and she brings the bottle to him and he realizes that he could be disoriented. Then Jennifer, who is a figment of Tom's imagination, shows up and they exchange some words.  Nice work.
